196 new cases of Covid-19 reported in Nigeria, toll rises to 1728


196 new cases of Covid-19 have been reported in Nigeria by the Nigerian Center for Disease Control (NCDC).

Out of the 196 new cases, 87 were confirmed in Lagos, 24 in Kano, 18 in Gombe, 17 in Kaduna, 16 in FCT, 10 in Katsina, 8 in Sokoto, 7 in Edo, 6 in Borno, 1 each in Yobe, Ebonyi, and Adamawa.

As at 11:55pm 29th April- 1728 confirmed cases of #COVID19 reported in Nigeria. Discharged: 307. Deaths: 51, the NCDC tweeted on it’s official Twitter account.


That brings the total number of confirmed cases of Covid-19 in Nigeria to 1728, with 307 discharged and 51 deaths recorded.

Meanwhile, the presidential task force on Covid-19 today announced that Nigeria will begin easing the lockdown imposed on the country by President Buhari on May 4th with Banks, public transportation, pharmaceutical companies and others billed to resume their various businesses.
