285 new cases of Covid-19 confirmed as Nigeria records 200 deaths


285 new cases of Covid-19 have been confirmed in Nigeria by the Nigerian Center for Disease Control (NCDC) who also announced that 200 deaths have so far been recorded from the virus.

This was disclosed via Twitter in the early hours of Thursday, 21st May, 2020. The NCDC tweeted that out of the 285 new cases, 199 were recorded in Lagos, 26 in Rivers, 19 in Oyo, 8 each in the FCT and Borno, 7 in Plateau, 6 in Jigawa, 5 in Kano, 2 in Abia, and 1 each in Ekiti, Delta, Kwara, and Taraba.

That brings the total number of confirmed cases of Covid-19 in Nigeria to 6677, with 1840 discharged and 200 deaths recorded.

Meanwhile, the head of the Imo Covid-19 Task Force , Prof. Maurice Iwu  announced yesterday that all the 7 confirmed cases of Covid-19 in Imo have now been discharged and the state is now Covid-19 free.
