Mikel Arteta has led Arsenal to a community shield triumph over Manchester City following a 4 – 1 penalty shootout win at the Wembley stadium tonight.
Manchester City went ahead through Paul Palmer’s 77th minute strike, before Trossard struck at the death, to give the gunners a well deserved equaliser in 90+11 minute, to take the game straight to penalty.
Cole Palmer becomes the youngest player to score in the Community Shield, since Cesc Fàbregas for Arsenal against Chelsea in 2005, at the age of 18 years.
This win makes it Arsenal’s 17th so far, and Manchester City have lost the community shield in three seasons in a row.
It’s a second Community Shield and third trophy in total for Mikel Arteta since he joined Arsenal in 2019.
