
Former Manchester City defender, Benjamin Mendy is on the verge of filing a lawsuit against his former club, following close to €11.5M of unpaid salaries, while he was in custody.
The Frenchman wasn’t paid between August 2021 and June 2023 because of his legal battles, and he intends to claim it back.
Mendy, who now plays for French side, FC Lorient told the court that, he is on the verge of selling his house, in an attempt to avoid bankruptcy, and he would want his former club to pay him whatever they owe.
He was arrested in August 2021, where he was charged with eight counts of rape, and an attempted rape, by a Cheshire council, as he was suspended by Manchester City during his ordeal.
Manchester City is yet to respond publicly to the lawsuit, and the media is following every proceedings concerning the club and it’s former player.
