Causes of Low Turnout on Election Day.


Elections all over the world is a special day, the day set aside to pick that person who is trusted to lead the country for a particular period of time.

But recently, there have been low turnout in elections which on the other hand it’s not supposed to be so, the reason for this should be closely looked into.

The level of election conducted in a country have a great impact on the rate of electoral participation.

Though Electoral turnout is greater at the federal level than in state elections, the outcome of the former takes a toil on the latter.

Mostly, Supporters of political parties vote more often than those without a
partisan identification, there is evidence that elections based on proportional representation have higher electoral turnouts than majority or plurality elections.

Voter turnout tends to be depressed in noncompetitive or safe electoral districts and
elevated in competitive ones.
