Covid-19: 26 new cases in Imo as NCDC confirms 229 cases in Nigeria, toll rises to 8068


26 new cases of Covid-19 have been confirmed in Imo as the Nigerian Center for Disease Control announces 229 new cases in Nigeria.

According to a tweet by the NCDC, of the 229 new cases, 90 were confirmed in Lagos, 27 in Katsina, 26 in Imo, 23 in Kano, 14 in the FCT, 12 in Plateau, 9 in Ogun, 7 in Delta, 5 each in Borno and Rivers, 4 in Oyo, 3 in Gombe, 2 in Osun, and 1 each in Anambra and Bayelsa. The NCDC also announced that there’s been a total of 8068 cases so far in Nigeria, with 2311 recovered and discharged, and 233 recorded.

Meanwhile, Imo had previously been tagged Covid-19 free after it discharged all 7 cases of Covid-19 it previously recorded. The confirmation of 26 new cases brings the state back to the number of states in Nigeria with the Covid-19 infection.
