Egypt reports first confirmed case of the Coronavirus in Africa


Egypt has reported it’s first confirmed case of the Coronavirus.

According to Al Jazeera, the case was detected with the government’s follow up program for travelers arriving affected countries.

The Egypt Health Minister, Khaled Mugahed also revealed that the affected person has been hospitalized and in isolation, but didn’t reveal his nationality.

This is the first confirmed case of the virus in Africa. Botswana and Ivory Coast reportedly had suspected cases in previous weeks.

Since the virus broke out of China, it has reportedly killed almost 1,400 people with nearly 65,000 infected in various countries around the world.
