Fire outbreak at Imo State University reportedly caused by flashpoint

Fire broke out yesterday Friday, 31st January, 2019, at the pre-degree block of Imo State University burning several important files and bushes.

As at the time of this report, the source of the fire outbreak is still unknown, however, a staff of the University said it could be as a result of flashpoint.

According to the staff of the University who asked to be anonymous, the fire was as a result of flashpoint.

“The fire could be as a result of flashpoint. The high temperature may have resulted to a flashpoint escalated by the wind”, he said.

The fire was eventually put out by Imo State Fire Service who were reportedly at the scene 30 minutes after the fire broke out.
