Maurizio Sarri was asked about Cristiano Ronaldo’s angry reaction after he was substituted against Lokomotiv Moscow, as he was caught on camera making signals with his fingers.
The Juventus Boss played down any thought of his Star Man being angry with the substitution, but said, he was angry because of the minor injury sustained during the game.
It is the first time the Portuguese international has failed to complete 90 minutes in a Champions League game since February 2016.
Ronaldo was clearly frustrated as he made his way off the pitch, exchanging words with Sarri before making his way to the bench.
“Ronaldo was angry because he wasn’t very well, he had a knee problem a few days ago and his adductor easily got tired,” said Sarri.
“At the end of the first half he was nervous. I was afraid he would hurt himself and I preferred to take him off”.
