The Nigerian Football Federation have lost another potential talent in the person of Leicester City’s youth player, Chituru Odunze, as he has been called up to United States U20 National Team.
Though, the 17-year-old was selected in goal on two occasions during the U17 World Cup as the Americans failed to make it past the group stage, he would hope to stake a claim to the U S team in the near future.
Odunze and his teammates will train at IMG Academy in Bradenton, Fla. Hudson before facing Mexico in two friendlies on January 16 and 18.
This season, he has featured in four matches for the Foxes in the U18 Premier League, posting one shutout against Arsenal while conceding five goals, and was on the bench for a Premier League 2 game against Wolverhampton Wanderers in August 2019.
The 6-foot-7 goalkeeper is also eligible to represent Canada apart from Nigeria and United States.
