What you need to know about Zainab Ahmed, Nigeria’s new finance minister


    Following Adeosun’s resignation, President Buhari has appointed the minister of state for budget and national planning, Zainab Ahmed, to take over the former Finance minister’s duties.

    According to a statement by Presidential spokesman, Femi Adesina, Buhari has backed the approval of Ahmed to oversee the finance ministry immediately.

    Zainab Ahmed became Chief Finance Officer of Nigeria Mobile Telecommunications, MTEL, after joining in September, 2005. And in 2009, was appointed the Managing Director of Kaduna Investment Company by Governor Patrick Yakowa.

    She currently holds the Fellowship of Association of National Accountants of Nigeria, ANAN, a member of the Nigerian Institute of Taxation and the Nigerian Institute of Management.
